Ghana We will focus on: *home life *education *interesting facts *geography *regions found in Ghana: 1. coastal 2. rainforest 3. Lake Volta 4. plains 5. savanna *using a non-fiction text to find the answers to literal questions Ghana By the end of this unit, students will be able to: *Identify Ghana and Africa on a globe and a map. *Locate the countries and body of water that surrounds each border of Ghana. *Explain the relationship between Ghana and Africa. *Use terminology to include the cardinal directions, landforms, and bodies of water. *Relate how geography impacts the culture of Ghana. *Identify the location of Ghana in relation to the poles, equator, and hemispheres. *Learn that Africa is made up of 53 countries. *Locate some of the other countries in Africa on a map. *Use the terminology of coasts, borders, and cardinal directions to locate and describe the African countries.
